Frederick's Landing
Fredericks Landing is located along the Licking River and is open year-round. Originally constructed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1965. Campbell County leased the property until 1981 when the City of Wilder took over the lease and made improvements to the park. In 2004 the Federal Government transferred ownership of the land to the city through the Federal Parks to Land Program. The city continues to add to and make improvements to the park each year.
Frederick’s Landing offers a boat launch, playground, shelter, and plenty of parking. The park also has several picnic tables and benches to sit and enjoy the river.
The shelter building is available to rent and is a perfect spot for birthday parties, graduations, family reunions, etc. For more information call 859-581-8884.
The park does require a pass for parking. You may purchase your parking passes at the city building. Cost for passes are as follows: yearly auto $10.00, yearly auto/boat $50.00, daily auto $2.00, daily auto/boat $10.00.
Veteran's Memorial Park
Veterans Memorial Park is located behind the city building and encompasses about an acre of land. A monument that bares the distinct design of each branch within the Armed Forces was erected in 2002. The monument represents VFW Post 8020 and its purpose is to pay homage to those who have served our country past and present. It is currently the location the city honors our veterans each year for the Flag Raising Ceremony. Along with the memorial, the park offers a covered area with picnic tables and a playground for families to enjoy.
